Problem: AccuGlobe 2007 non-halo labels are illegible on Vista.




Solution: Vista has a feature called Clear Type that attempts to smooth edges of screen fonts to make them easier to read. This feature, however, conflicts with the way that non-halo labels are rendered within AccuGlobe. If you have trouble reading your label themes, are on on Windows Vista, and don't want to use halo label themes, try to turn off Clear Type. Follow these steps: Open the Control Panel. Under "Appearance and Personalization" click "Customize colors". Then click "Open class appearance properties for more color options". In the Appearance Settings window, click "Effects". Uncheck "Use the following method to smooth edges of screen fonts:" and OK out of all the windows. Open AccuGlobe 2007 and verify that the labels are legible.




Result: The labels on your map should be readable like in the following screenshot:
