I have imported a selection of crash data files from the department of safety. Some shape files fine, some don't. The files that don't import are actually there but you can not make them display. You can select by window and the items will appear highlighted in the attribute table but not on the screen. I have tried unloading and reloading the files to no avail. I have tried changing every setting in the properties box and nothing displays, no labels, no tags, no themes. They are there and you can select them, you just can't see them. The other files work perfectly.

I am sure I am not seeing the forest for the trees, what am I missing?

I've enjoyed using and creating Print Templates in Accuglobe, however there are some things that still do not work correctly in the dialog.

1.) When I create a Print Template and then save it, the border I had around my map frame turns transparent and line thickness changes. I tried to remedy this by drawing a hollow rectangle around my map frame which seems to work better, but when saved the ZOrder gets screwed up resulting in my image being on top of my border. (These happen during a "Save Template As" but also through the "Modify Map" dialog to change the scale.)

2.) When creating a larger plot (40Wx30L) I had to switch my default printer to our plotter. After doing this, when I try to access the Page Settings in the Template window, I get the following unhandled error:

Value of -981 is not valid for 'bottom'. 'bottom' must be greater than or equal to 0.

If you need the exception text, I can provide that as well.

Thanks,
D

Sorry I have to call the printing buggy, but it has taken me quite an effort to get to the following workaround for printing. If I change "anything" in AccoGlobes page setup I get errors. Here is how to avoid it.

It is bacically about setting up the default printer as you like AccuGlobe to print and then save it in AccuGlobe as a printing template for later use:

* Before opening AccuGlobe set the desired printer as the default printer: right click on the printer in Windows "Printers and Faxes" and choose "Set as default printer"
* Right click again and select "Printing preferences"
* Setup orientation, paper size, margins .... and so on
* Open your map in AccuGlobe
* Click print (it should now be in the desired orientation and paper size)
* In the right panel under "Behavior" click "+" next to "EditStyle"
* Click on "AspectRatio" and select "True"
* Now drag your map to fill the paper (the zoom may not be right after dragging, but ignore that). If it is a big paper size you might set ZOOM: 50% or other value
* Save the template (Save as...)
* Close print window
* Click print again
* Select "File" and "Load template" and select the template you saved.
* Now the layout should be as desired: Papersize, orientation etc. and the zoom should match what you see in the AccuGlobe map window.

And next time, just click print and "Load template"

Best Regards

Morten

Problem: AccuGlobe 2007 non-halo labels are illegible on Vista.

Solution: Vista has a feature called Clear Type that attempts to smooth edges of screen fonts to make them easier to read. This feature, however, conflicts with the way that non-halo labels are rendered within AccuGlobe. If you have trouble reading your label themes, are on on Windows Vista, and don't want to use halo label themes, try to turn off Clear Type. Follow these steps: Open the Control Panel. Under "Appearance and Personalization" click "Customize colors". Then click "Open class appearance properties for more color options". In the Appearance Settings window, click "Effects". Uncheck "Use the following method to smooth edges of screen fonts:" and OK out of all the windows. Open AccuGlobe 2007 and verify that the labels are legible.

Result: The labels on your map should be readable like in the following screenshot:

Hi there, I was wondering if there was a way to support hyperlinking to multiple files (not necessarily in the same directory) in AG 2007? For example I have an .mdb file with fields containing full path names to multiple documents. I establish a 'relate' and join this table to a data set in a map. My hope is to have those path names be accessible as hyperlinks when using the identify tool on the joined feature. Everything worked fine except the paths aren't active as hyperlinks, just wondered if I missed a setting. If not, maybe put this in as a sticky for a feature idea in the next version.

Regards-

Bret A.
