So what was I doing? I was trying to create a shapefile of points by using a mixture of other shapefiles as a guide and creating my own points. I overlaid county street maps (line shapefiles) in New Jersey on top of a polygon shapefile (census tracts in New Jersey), and this pesky error keeps requiring me to combine those files together with the new point shapefile (which is saved by the computer) sometimes when I log into Accuglobe to work on the stuff - in other words, the error busts up the whole Accuglobe Project/ Solution, but doesn't harm the underlying shapefiles). I now have several Accuglobe Projects/ Solutions sharing the same shapefiles as a result.

I failed to replicate the error after trying to save under the same name in Project and Solution, even with ROADS_2008, which is a Microsoft Access Database. (I don't know why it's in that category rather than Shapefile...) I think the computer might need to turn off and then on for the error to happen again. I don't know.

I got the error to occur again. The error happened when I saved a group of files as an Accuglobe Project and again as an Accuglobe Solution under the same name, and exited Accuglobe, and then logged back into Accuglobe. The problem is that this contaminates the entire project/ solution and I need to make a new project/solution, but the underlying shapefiles are ok. I wonder if a file entitled ROADS_2008 (which is a shapefile that I downloaded from the NJ transportation dept., I think) is to blame. I'll keep ya posted.

Most software use either mouse wheel or Ctrl+mouse wheel to zoom around mouse pointer or scroll (or switch between the two).The point is the solution available so far is one that will disable the mouse wheel through the windows environment i require only for a particular window....and of course idea is to restrict move to another record when the mouse is scrolled...

Gents, I have used my reliable Blackberry Curve (8300) for the past 2 years. I am thinking about upgrading to either the Bold or Iphone. My daughter, son and girlfriend all have Iphones. I like the gadget aspect of these phones and all the cool apps.I like the Bold because of the screen, integrated email, etc. Yes, I am a business class user. I am mobile 50% of the time and am used to my curve.What would you recommend?

That is indeed a great feat, a Santro,in these terrains. Have been a proud owner of a Santro for 6 odd years and never thought it could reach these heights, literally.Have the folks at Hyundai taken a note of this achievement? Do ink a few words to them, for all you know you would/could probably be sponsored to participate in more of these events in the years to come.

I was wondering... If I Have A Solution With A Number Of Maps Within It, Is It Possible In Any Way For Me To Simply Copy A (Group/Layer) And Paste It Into Another Map Without Actually Saving The Styles And Then Reloading The Layer And Loading The Style Again? Would Just Be Convenient When Working With Large Presentations With Many Maps That You Have To Rename, Set The Projection & Set the Thematic For Each File... Making A Template Map Only Gets You So Far.
P.S.I Don't Suppose There's Any Chance Of ArcGIS 9 Type Drag-&-Drop Functionality In Future Versions Is There?

Can anybody make the edit tool "Auto Extend Selected Lines" function?
No matter how I try to select the two lines I just get the message when selecting "Auto Extend Selected Lines": "Please select (using this tool) two features before trying to use this function".
It is not described in Help...

I have imported a selection of crash data files from the department of safety. Some shape files fine, some don't. The files that don't import are actually there but you can not make them display. You can select by window and the items will appear highlighted in the attribute table but not on the screen. I have tried unloading and reloading the files to no avail. I have tried changing every setting in the properties box and nothing displays, no labels, no tags, no themes. They are there and you can select them, you just can't see them. The other files work perfectly.
I am sure I am not seeing the forest for the trees, what am I missing?

Is it possible to customize the printed legend?
I often use background maps with lakes and forrests and city names, but these layers are not relevant in the legend.
Can I somehow specify what layers to appear in the printed legend?
